Marine Environments
RDA has been designing custom homes in marine environments for many years. These environments include oceanfront, bayfront, and canal-front properties, and over time, we have gained extensive knowledge in this area. Construction in these floodplain locations requires careful consideration of FEMA flood maps, hurricane wind pressure requirements, and the selection of proper materials, windows, and doors to meet or exceed the code’s wind design pressures. We achieve this by using stainless steel or non-plated hardware such as brushed nickel.
Floodplain locations also require the correct number and size of stainless steel flood vents, as well as proper waterproof materials up to and above the floodplain. RDA has specialized in these types of locations, completing dozens of projects successfully.
